I'm trying to empty my "Elizabeth-Haters and Canon-Rapers" folder. They make me sad.

I've also put the plot recap behind a cut, not because it's any longer than usual but because it's always long.

TITLE: Not All Treasure is Silver and Gold
CULPRIT: myheartxyourknife Don't tempt me.
SUMMARY: "WillOC - After Elizabeth is killed :(, Will and Jack ( Read more... )

~ XxDarkGoddessxX: No, they didn't really hate each other, but because they worked together to build America, doesn't mean that all the British liked them. ;) I just wanted some French bashing in here. (Not as some huge patriotic say-freedom-instead-of-France/French, because I have French in me) but because it seemed to me that Jack didn't appreciate them very much and I found it funny.. just wanted to imply it in my own fic. ;) Good to see that you're alert though. Hee, thanks for the review!

Amelie says go away or she will taunt you for a second time ... Damn French haters. >:(

What is it with Sues and pale skin, exactly?

good question. you'd think if some one that pale were out all day on a pirate ship they'd be red as a lobster and peeling. huge flakes of skin, that's very attractive.

i've dated very fair women. all it takes is twenty minutes in direct sunlight without block and they're fried.

i don't see how Elizabeth is dislikeable in any way. then again, i don't wanna bang Jack or Will. (well maybe Jack... just a little bit.) it's just like all those girls that hated Miaka when Fushigi Yuugi was big, only with even less base for it. like it or not, the story went the way the author intended it, and nothing you do in fanfiction will ever really change that. :b

*nods* Yes. Fair skin on a pirate ship seems like a very stupid idea. This coming from one of the very fair skinned people who'd be bright red within the hour. Stupid Sues. But then, since they are Sues, maybe they're magically protected from this?

Okay, so I'm overreacting a bit a lot a bit here, but just because we worked with so and so to create America, doesn't mean we like the French AT ALL. The fate of everything does not rest upon America's shoulders! America isn't the centre of the universe! Aarrrrgh!

Don't mind me, I'm just the tetchy Brit in the corner.

That I know. I have a number of darling friends in America (hi Anni!), but you lot did elect a complete yobbo for your president. Even more of a yobbo than Blair. What is a yobbo?

*facepalms*

'hungs' was, obviously, meant to be 'hugs'

It's been a long day and I'm using an annoying public computer...

Thank you, potcsues for your 'character death' rant!

Amen!

This one doesn't seem to be terribly written - at least from the glancing at it I did, it seems to use paragraphs and stuff, so that's a good sign :p - but oh, the Sue! And the author's notes!

Sorry there was no Elizabeth torturing... You can imagine her dying slowly after being shot, though. :P

...

So this is another one where Elizabeth was cheating on Will with Norrington?

Yeah. Because when she faced social death by choosing Will, clearly it was just so that she could carry on an affair with Norrington.

And because Norrington, who lives for the rulebook, would go along with that.

*growls*

In other news, I can think of several fics I've read that at least begin with a real emphasis on Will/Elizabeth. Maybe not any actual Will/Elizabeth!Sex since they're usually set pre-wedding, but certainly a lot of angsty relationship stuff. Do you want them?

Re: potcsues February 5 2004, 15:48:26 UTC
The simple fact that they feature Will and Elizabeth not having sex before the wedding makes me want them. That persistant bit of historical inaccuracy bugs the hell out of me. People have them living together, him (and various other men) gallavanting around in her room, etc. I mean, it's not even something that requires a lot of research. Just ask someone, dammit. For God's sake, they'd've caused a scandal with that kiss at the end of movie.

So, uhm, yes. I need to be reminded that there's fanfiction out there that isn't a crime against humanity.

We all need reminding of that every now and then :p.

Okay, I hope you haven't already read these.

I usually read action/adventure, and that's what these are too, but both of these are in my "more romance than action/adventure" box.

Oh, and sorry, but neither are finished or very recently updated.

http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1457493 This one's very thoroughly written - well, it struck me as a leetle overblown and kind of purple, but it's Will/Elizabeth. :p

http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1479582 And this one I really enjoyed, despite more romance angst than I personally care for (I'm not a romance fan at all really)

*is now nervous and hoping no potcsues readers are secretly the authors of either of the above fics*

What gets me is that the author believes that Elizabeth's father would be happier to see her marrying Will but having an affair with Norrington than to see her being faithful to Will. Is it me, or does that seem rather odd?
