So, you read a fic. And in it, Dumbledore is manipulative, et cetera, usually with a big side helping of "I want you to do this because I said so", and repeatedly displays examples of this obtuseness throughout the fic. Example: wants to send Harry back to the Dursleys over repeated objections

Hmmm. I do like super!harry stories, which often feature dim!dumbledore, but you make a good point. The man was a legend. He has most of the wizarding world eating out of the palm of his hand. He had his own chocolate frog card!

I will respect him more in future..
