I'm only an hour or so into the first episode - well, more like movie, it's the 2003 miniseries - but I just found myself v impressed by one little tiny scene: a spaceship technician, finished with his other checks, is mopping the floor of the hangar deck. The thing about Stargate: Atlantis - if they had intended to make cut-off-from-earth, lord-of-the-flies sci-fi epic charting the slow, chilling descent into self-justification and general amorality, it might have been a very good show.
