i've read the book a few times now and loved it more each time. it's very sad to me because from what you've written, it's like you read a completely different book than i.

That's exactly how I feel, too. And it's disappointing. I really wanted to like this book, but it was just too different, and completely ignored everthing that happened in OotP (my favorite of the series). Plus, she killed off my favorite character: Hermione. Ah well.
