Despite overtime, despite having to help Godot with his studies, and despite a meriad of other small but distracting events, I was able to complete ground school and pass the FAA written test for private pilots.
On with the FLYING!!!

Well, my flying lessons are on Hiatus for awhile. I've been put on overtime at work, and I'm also going through ground school. So, I haven't the time for all that, and helping Robert with his reading/writing lessons

Alright, we finally got to do some REAL flying. Which means we flew to a different airport to practice landings. Yes, real flying means knowing how to get the airplane on the ground without breaking it. Well, at least not breaking it in a way visible from the outside

Okay, so far I've done power off stalls, slow speed flight, ground reference maneuvers and various other techniques with flying the airplane. Today, my instructor anounced, we are practicing STEEP turns and Sliiiiippppsssss

And the sky was a clear blue and smooth like a silk sheet. The airplane felt like it was levetating as we flew over the Kansas countryside toward the practice area. Looking down, I could see the boat cutting long wakes as they crossed Lake Cheney

My seventh lesson was back on Tuesday evening of this week. It was a lovely evening as I preflighted the airplane. Lovely that is, till I check the fuel tanks. I dropped the dip stick into the tank and pulled it out again. 2 gallons!! That's barely enough fuel for us to get airborne and back down on the runway.. I checked it again, banging
