It's amazing how grief sneaks up on you at the strangest times. I was turning off the lights in the living room to get ready for bed, and a picture of my Mom and I on the mantle, taken exactly two weeks before she died, caught my eye.

Brad Pitt donates money to support gay marriage

While I'm not sure how $100k will help defeat the November ballot initiative, it's nice that he's offering some support. I have a feeling the law will be overturned, but I'm glad so many gay couples have been able to get married up to this point.

I was stopped at a red light on the way back to work after lunch, and I swear that Yoko Ono was in the blue sedan next to me.

I am a sore panda. My trainer and I did upper body at the gym tonight (although afterwards I realized we did upper body the last time, so I guess I have to do double legs now) and I'm extremely sore. It would appear that I'm still in the "not eating much" mode. Last night I didn't feel like cooking and dirtying dishes when I was still trying to clean the ones that were already dirty, so I ordered pizza. Today I searched our shipping room high and low for a box small enough to mail a little beanie dog back to my friend Beth's four-year-old daughter Anika. They were here for my party this weekend and Anika left it behind, and is beside herself with missing her little pet.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for kids.
