I'm over Wyoming now. Probably about three miles west of Cheyenne. And about 7 miles up. They have wind farms in Wyoming now. At first I thought they were giant crosses. Around Piedmont Park. 7.8 miles. 12.5 kilometers. Which is more than 10 kilometers. Damn. I felt really, really good today. I kind of wanted to run about 4 miles, but I got to Piedmont and was like "Shit, I feel good. I'll keep going." So I went around, and then I was like "I like Ansley Park, I'll run through there." Atlantic station. 4.5 miles. Took a 6 day break, and the hip is feeling much better. I think I'm going to have to keep it light for awhile, but 4-5 miles two or three times a week should be a pretty decent long-term running schedule. That should put me in a good position for a 10k, but my half marathon ambitions will have to wait for awhile ( Read more... )

The Velvet Teen is probably the most underrated band of the decade. I've probably been one of their biggest underraters. I had initially dismissed their newest (2006) album, but this week I've fallen in love with it again. This is so impossibly good, I can't even bring myself to express it clearly enough.

The park smells wonderful this time of year. A bit under 5 miles. Probably too long. I was really dying at the end, and had to walk up half of the massive hill on 10th street just north of Tech. Still, I'm really pleased with my improvement. Yay for improvement ( Read more... )
