Actual life-and-death Dramas

There is a member of my extended family who currently is the focus of an intense medical drama. Lets call him "C". C lives 1,000 miles away from the Metroplex, has never married, is in his early 40s and is a bad alcoholic (I am sitting here thinking about that last part...is there such a thing as a "good" alcoholic?). ~signs~ Do you ever find yourself walking through a store looking at people around you and envy their seeming lack of drama? What did they do in their life to rank the carmic blessing of normalicy? I know that the things we experience in life shape who we are but shouldn't we reach a point someday where we have enough character?

Oh, honey, those people in Walmart aren't "normal" either, trust me on that.

Do you know the folk saying..."if all the world's troubles were put into a pile and then everyone given a chance to pick one, almost everyone would pick up the thing they originally contributed and then quietly slip away..."

Very true on the Wal-Mart people and we are mostly prisoners of our own devices, or so the Eagles say. Of course some of our misery is heaped upon us. My life seems to be a mixture of both.
