I just finished Anne of the Island about a month or two ago, I think? I'm wondering if the continuing novels beyond the first three are still good, or if they run into 'series that went on too long' problems. Because even with the introduction of Davey I was starting to feel like stories were repeating themselves.

They are ALL GOOD. This was before Sequels For Money™ (See Stephenie Meyer).

I am not yet qualified to answer this question, I'm afraid.

It was so many years ago when I first read Anne of Green Gables that I misremembered Matthew and Marilla as husband and wife.

Oh and I must say the Annes all remain true to the redheaded girl with the carpetbag on the train station.

Also read Emily of New Moon maybe? She is only three books long.

And my favorite book ever in the universe, The Blue Castle! Read that too. In fact, just come over, and I'll make hot chocolate and you can read my library. Cool?

Go for it! We can all be making journal style comics about where we are in the books.

I want to make some joke but have never read the Anne books! I am a bad Canadian (also I don't like hockey). But Anne of Lavaworld made me larf.

The worst part about drawing this strip was all the other crazy ideas that wanted to intrude. Prince Edward Asteroid!

I really want to draw Lavaworld, but I have no concept of what it would look like.

Gorgeous! Especially as I am the self-appointed Americans For Anne Of Green Gables chapter president for Australia.

Thank you and may future generations acknowledge that it was Americans for Anne of Green Gables (Australian chapter) who first understood the series' necessary relocation to space.

Well I've never been to good old P.E.I. but I understand it's not very big. Population growth, Anne fans relocating, and Anne's own descendants ALONE would make it awful crowded. Amirite?

Especially when the Japanese tourists arrive. AoGG is a set text in many of their schools, and considered essential reading for girls. They love Anne's spunkiness and academic dedication, and the romance with Gilbert. There's a big, big business in tours to PEI and Green Gables dream wedding packages. It's so sweet and unlikely-seeming!
