My recent Internet hiatus was partially self-imposed, partially the result of technical difficulties. The DSL here at home had been a spotty (which I just spelled 'spooty,' lol) for a couple of months; then, a little over a week ago, it cut out completely. Did any of you watch the series premiere of Glee last night? Because it was awesome.
OH GOD. IT WAS SO SO SO SO SO SO AWESOME.

It was one year ago today...
I just caught the elimination episode of American Idol (I've only seen a few episodes this season) and was reminded that it was right about a year ago that my world was destroyed BY ONE WEEK OF TELEVISION.

The pie. It betrayed me.
Today I found myself craving some apple pie, so I decided to spend my day off baking one from scratch (crust, filling, everything). I turned to my trusty Baker's Wife cookbook, which has never steered me wrong in the past.
After three hours of apple peeling, crust rolling, and finally, dish washing, I tasted the pie.

I forgot to say in my last post that I recently found an Asian market in Rapid City where I bought lots of good food. Most importantly: green tea ice cream. Which I am eating right now.
Daaaamn. It's so good.
Also, this market is right next to my favorite smoothie place. Win-win right there, baby. -

I haven't been posting much lately simply because I haven't had much to say. I didn't really notice this until I quit, but while working at the Courant, I posted A LOT, mostly because spewing up words on LJ was as a good as way as any to kill company time. *shrugs*
