but more importantly, i miss you and i cant wait until december so i can see you again :) and one of these days, i'll get my act together and send you an AMAZING care package and it will make you smile so much you'll forget that you ever forgot how to.
As an ex-soldier myself, my heart goes out to you. I spent three years, one month and twenty three days in the US Army after high school, leading a life completely different from that of my friends, divergent from the life I once imagined. It is a strange life, as a soldier, and indeed a strange feeling to remove yourself from the life you have known and loved, to place yourself in danger, alone. My only hope is that you are safe and well, and that while you may miss the little things, what you do is important beyond measure. Goodluck, be strong, and come home safe.
Peace
An ex-soldier
Ps- to the people who actually know this girl, get on the care packages. they make a world of difference.
hello, ive been reading your journal on my friends page long enough to recognise your name, but i never realised you were in the army. i guess its because i didnt look that hard or you dont usually get so down. maybe it was the gun. anyway i just wanted to remind you that you werent drafted, so try to remember the positive reasons you saw for joining in the first place. believe me, what youre doing is doing more for you than posting awaymessages can do for any of us. so stay safe, if your indanger, but realise that you will be home, then thats where you will be. and nothing else will be going on. believe me, till lastweek newyork was cold and shitty, and today it rained and even snowed for a bit. enjoy the sunshine, the hardware, the friends mostly, and try not to live for things that are not where you are. be where you are with the body and the mind and the heart to hold it all together. in fact if i was you i wouldnt even come home for your break. some stupid lover, and sure you miss your parents but i assure you you will do more
