Author:
prettyorianna
Pairing: Akame.  Others to be added later.
Rating: NC-17.
Genre: crime drama au
Beta by: my cat Gemma.  okay, seriously, nobody
Disclaimer: I don't own KAT-TUN, any of its members, any other JE people.  I write this for fun and for other fans of these fine folks.  But don't steal my plots, mmkay?  I put a great deal of time into them except for when I'm randomly spastically spitting words onto a page.  But I value those too...

Summary:  Two criminals with vastly different styles meet by chance one day.  Can they work together or will they end up destroying each other?

Author's Note:  It's a short chapter and I'm sorry.  But it's just, if I want to post tonight I have just enough time to do it and I happened to get to a dividable point in the writing.  So rather than try to get more parts into this chapter, I ended it here so I could give it to you now instead of in a couple days.

BANNER BY DESHISORABA!!

Warning:  This gets graphic often occasionally, containing at the very least foul language, character death, nefarious crimes, rape, etc etc.

Chapter 31 ~The Immediate Aftermath~

Kame slammed the door to the rough trade house behind him.  He could still hear Maru’s… well, the thing had gone off and he still wasn’t quite sure what it was.  It seemed more like something fitting a holiday celebration than an aid to battle.  Well, whatever worked, he supposed.

It seemed the majority of Papa K’s whores scattered when they hit the front door, but one didn’t.  Kame almost didn’t recognize the man after… well, nearly ten years.  Then the man’s gaze fell on him and Kame saw recognition fill those eyes.

It was Yokoyama Yuu.

Time had not been kind to him.

Kame had always wondered what happened to Ryuichi’s stroll after Ryuichi’s death, but he’d been too scared to go check.  For all he knew, his father had set someone to watching the area.  But now he felt guilty.  What they had there, well… Kame wouldn’t say that it “worked” so much, but it was at least relatively stable.  Had things really gone so badly?

Or was it just Yoko?  But as Kame thought back, he couldn’t see that Yoko choosing to give up what little freedom he had to go work for any pimp, especially one like Papa K.  Actually, he couldn’t see any of that boy in the man standing before him.

Well, Jin was still carrying Ueda-san in the direction of the Taurus a few blocks away.  They’d dropped people off in small groups in the car about four blocks away and since it looked like the man would need medical attention, nobody in Kizuna would object if Jin and his friend went back in the first trip.  Really, Kame’s leadership wasn’t needed anymore since he trusted his gang to make it back home safely now that they were out of the house.  He could give his attention fully to Yoko.

“You are Kame… yes, Kame?” Yoko asked.  He sounded irritable and he was very twitchy, like he couldn’t stand still.  “You’ve been busy…”

“You’ve been high,” was all Kame could respond with.  “So Papa K drugged you, too.”

Yoko mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like, “I wish,” and just stared at Kame.  Or, well, Kame’s chest.  He didn’t seem to want to meet Kame’s eyes, especially since he recognized him.  But finally he said, “Do I come with you now?  Am I working for you now?  Or do you plan to just ditch me somewhere and leave me to fend for myself again?”

He sounded so bitter.  Kame couldn’t just let it be; despite the fact the man might know he was Papa K’s son, he couldn’t just abandon him out here.  There was no helping it; he’d just have to take Yoko with him and deal with the consequences.

“Worry about all of that later.  For now, just come with me and let’s get you fed.”

Tatsuya had stopped begging somewhere between where Jin had carefully put him in the Taurus and them arriving at the church.  He was still doing his best to shield his head and body as much as possible, though, and he was still weeping miserably.  And if that wasn’t bad enough, the moment the car door opened at the church, he pretty much melted out of the seat and down to the ground where he started violently retching.

What the hell did those bastards give him?

Jin hoped every single one of those assholes at the rough trade house was dead now.  And if they weren’t and he ever saw them again, he wouldn’t hesitate.  Witnesses, no witness… Hell, he’d risk going to jail for the rest of his life if that’s what it took.  They were dead.  They were all dead, and Papa K, too.

Once he was done with them, he meant…

Somebody had to suffer for his friend, because his friend had suffered enough.

Jin lifted Tatsuya up just in time to keep him from falling face-first in everything he’d just heaved up.  He was barely conscious by then, clinging weakly to Jin’s shirt as he carried his friend into the church and to the only place he could think to put him - on Kame’s sleeping mat in the office.

Kame would probably be pissed.

Well, he’d deal with it.  Jin didn’t want to just put Tatsuya on the floor.

A hand to his friend’s forehead confirmed what the now-flushed cheeks told Jin.  Tatsuya was feverish. Hopefully he would be alright there for a bit while Jin fetched a bowl of water from the kitchen and a rag or something.  That’s where he ran into Junno who was uncharacteristically pacing with a frown.

Junno practically jumped on him the moment he spotted him.  “Is he okay?  Is he here?  Did you get him?”

As Jin filled the bowl from the sink, he responded with, “He’s here, in the office.  I don’t know… about the rest.  He’s been drugged and it… I don’t know what they gave him, but I think they gave him too much of all of it.  Or too many different things together, maybe.  I mean, he was out of it at the house but now he’s burning up and barely conscious.”

Thankfully, Jin had some experience in caring for people high out of their minds or nearly overdosing.  He used to do some drugs recreationally with his first girlfriend.  Coke mostly.  Some of the stuff she did was a lot worse.  But it nearly killed her one night and he stopped using entirely after that.  Of course, that turned out rather badly in the end anyway, when she sicced her drug dealer boss on him.  Ah, good times, he thought bitterly.

“You should come with me.  Come see him,” Jin added.

“I can’t do that!  He hates me!  He thinks I betrayed him!” Junno started pacing again.  “Maybe we can talk and sort it out but not if he’s… not when he’s out of it like this.  He doesn’t want to see me.”

And what really could he say about that?  It was only by chance he’d learned Junno and Tatsuya dated in the first place because Tatsuya sure as hell never mentioned it.  Not once in the entire time they had been friends.

Jin didn’t have time to argue with Junno, so he did his best to rinse out the dish rag and then took both it and the bowl of water back to the office.

And he stayed with his friend through everything.  He stayed through the fever and the crying and the nonsensical rambling that followed it, ready with the cool rag and soothing words.  He was vaguely aware of Koki standing silently in the doorway, looking on worriedly.

Though Tatsuya did throw up a few more times into a wide bowl Koki had cleverly brought with him, the fever eventually let up and the man fell into natural sleep.   Jin cleaned up and dragged Koki out of the room with him so he could close the door to let Tatsuya get the rest he so obviously needed.  Everything else would just have to wait.

The story continues:
Chapter 32 ~A Lesson in Power and Limits~

A/N:  Poor Tat-chan.  If Papa K hadn't planned on killing him anyway in few days, they probably would have been a bit more careful with what they gave him.  But he's stronger than he looks and kept trying to escape so they just kept giving him more and more of the drugs and finally, they crossed the "too much" line and that's never good.

But he's sleeping now.  Real sleep.  It'll do him some good and then he can be reunited with Koki who he believes dead and Junno who he believes used him.  Seriously, I hope JunDa work their problems out.  And I guess we'll just have to wait and see what psychological damage the whole thing did to him, once he wakes up.

Oh, and bet you were surprised to find Yoko there!  Don't worry; chapter 33 will be Kame and Yoko and you'll find out more about the rescue mission and also what went down on Ryuichi's stroll after Kame killed him.  And I bet you're all dying to know if Yoko knows about Papa K being his dad (^_^)
