It is terrifying seeing your loved one injured and not in his right mind.

Wow, sorry he's hurt... glad it's not as bad as it could have been.
But I agree you made a poor judgement call. Putting a green rider on a green horse who's blind in one eye? That was an accident waiting to happen. Was he at least wearing a helmet?
It's not the horses fault. That's the risk you take when you own and ride horses- you could end up seriously injured or killed in a split second. Whether that risk is worth it for you is a decision only you can make. Make that decision after you've calmed down and the emotions aren't so raw. You'll be able to think through things more logically instead of based on a surge of emotions. Not to beat up on you, but if you do stick with them, I hope you use better judgement in the future.
Again, I'm sorry he's hurt and glad it's not as bad as it could have been.

So glad he's on the mend - now what about you? anonymous April 13 2010, 01:22:15 UTC
Pam, I don't know what to say except that I've made plenty of decisions that, in hindsight, were really, really bad ideas. Welcome to the human race. :)

Give yourself some time to process, and try to replace the 'beating yourself up' mode with thankfulness that it's all going to turn out ok.
