All of you out there reading reports of Roberts being "not so bad" and rethinking your ideas of his record need to WATCH the actual hearings and stop reading media representations.
I've been listening to him on the radio, so I haven't seen him smiling. While he claims to not want to comment on specific issues that might come before the court (which is not necessarily a bad position to take in the situation), he is using that to avoid answering questions about his judicial philosophy, which are entirely appropriate to ask and deserve real answers.
I am surprised by the number of areas in which he claims to have little or no knowledge or experience or opinion. Either he's lying, or he has been hiding in the woods for the last 30 years.
"Schwartz expressed dismay over a former colleague, Tom Jipping, who has become one of the Christian right's point men in the judicial nomination battles. "Tom's great," he said, recalling their days together at right-wing think tanks the Free Congress Foundation and Concerned Women for America."
It says later schwartz is actually vice president of governmental affairs for "Concerned Women for America". I wonder if there are any women members of that group? If they don't let them join - I bet they do offer opportunity to have your female picture taken and posted on a websight. Or perhaps they have a skirt who takes dick-tation.
This whole article was slimey.
I feel so helpless being one of the women who spent my whole 30 years with these rights in my access (though slowly dwindling) and I have never had to use them much less worry that I couldn't.
What will the girls generations behind me experience? Will they even know?
oh i saw that too and scratched my head. they have several talking heads that hannity and o'reilly use every once in awhile but other than that who knows. i honestly almost thought it was satire.

One thing is clear, *everyone* can sense that he's pulling a slick flim-flam job on all of us.
