Work did prove to be a pretty big distraction.  But don't get me wrong.  All day long it was in the back of my mind and at times something would remind me and it would all come flooding to the forefront.  There were times when I just wanted to lock myself in the bathroom and cry.  But I couldn't, so I didn't.

It's been years since someone gave me that nickname and it's been almost as long since I've been called that.  But I'm bringing her back.  Forget happy, sweet, Irene.  What does that get me?  Hurt.  It gets me hurt.  I don't want to feel like this anymore.  Lesson of the day: Never get excited about anything ever again.

I got the postcard Shana sent me from Italy today. Hooray for mail. And I got off early. But I'm still exhausted. And we're going out tonight. I'm supposed to go volunteer at the VBS reunion thingie at my church tomorrow, but we'll see how I feel after tonight.
