Farewell Dear Week

This week has been a trying one, and I am very happy to see that it is almost to a close. Fascination with Age and Death

Why Bother?
Well, I've made an executive decision...not enough of my friends, either online or real life, use LiveJournal to create a dual account. I've decided that my primary journal/blog, when I decide to keep one regularly, will be on Goodreads. Call me crazy, but I feel the most "at home" around book lovers. Checking in...
I'm surprised at how many friends have had their journals deleted; I believe the exact phrasing is "this journal has been purged." Does that mean they chose to shut down their journal or LiveJournal made the executive decision? Luckily, I have found some of the friends on Facebook, so that makes me happy ( Read more... ) -
Death and Sadness
My grandmother died today, Sunday, December 14, early in the morning. She suffered a brain aneurysm. I miss her so much. I'm not sure when I will stop crying. I will be leaving to Texas again for the funeral. I'm not sure how often I will be online these next couple of weeks.

Out of the two readings for class on November 28th, this one stuck with me leaving a bad taste in my mouth. It was disturbing that this group of people could let their lives be controlled by some outside, more powerful forces. This story was particularly interesting-it was about a war between two groups of people. One had their lands stolen from them by a different group of people, the Lopo, who came from across the water and slaughtered their families.
