I'm writing this on my BB so will be brief. I'm currently in Somerset staying with a friend for a couple of weeks. We had a mutual friend from America staying for a few days which was fun. We took her to Stonehenge, Old Wardour Castle and Glastonbury which she enjoyed hugely and it was very interesting to see our monuments through another's eyes. I ( Read more... )

We have had my aunt staying with us since Thursday. I go away for 2 weeks in 10 days time and I'm already stressing about the packing! I fully and freely admit that I generally don't travel light. I'm on day 3 of some kind of tummy bug and I'm not happy! Day one was lots of what dozydormouse so beautifully calls "Unfortunate Digestive Episodes". They seemed to have cleared up by yesterday lunchtime thanks to reliable medication but I still felt so tired and every time I eat or drink anything I feel sick. While doing some tidying up in my LJ I found some entries of book critiques. I may have to take this up again, it was nice reading about books that I had enjoyed and not enjoyed, and to see a record of what I had read.

I am exceedingly annoyed with railway workers at the moment. It isn't often I need to travel by train but of course I am booked to visit friends in Nottingham the days that the railway workers are striking. I'm not sure now what will happen. Are they going to run some services and not others? Will the trains be replaced by buses, as often happens ( Read more... )
