I bought my fridge (which is large and white and pretty) for around $400 at Lowe's. $450 if you count delivery and installation. Granted, that was 4 years ago, but I don't think our economy has gone THAT far down the tubes... :) I hate sales people...

What are the names of your classes? Hopefully, they'll get better?

Nah, I don't think the economy has gone down the tubes that much, they were just trying to upsell me something ridiculous. A standard fridge isn't too much more than what you paid. The energy star models tend to be more expensive, which irritates me- they should have some lower end models so that people who don't want to spend ridiculous amounts of money can help the environment too. I just hate the weird little aspects of appliances that make them cost so much more and are totally unnecessary. Like a dryer with a storage drawer. Or a fridge with internet access and a TV (What, I'm too lazy just to carry my laptop into the kitchen if I want either of those things while I cook)? I guess if people will pay for them... I just hate high pressure sales people... And any store with no prices on it's stuff is automatically suspicious if you ask me ( ... )
