i have heard back from my first grad school. woohoo! if all else fails (or even if other things go well and i decide that this is my top choice), i will have a spot, and some money, in epidemiology & biostats at western. i'm quite excited, and the supervisor seems really nice. i may head out there this weekend for a graduate information fair

Congrats on grad school! Isn't it nice to know that you have some kind of security coming in September, even if it's not your top choice for a program?...kind of a relief (it's how I felt when I heard from teacher's colleges).
That sucks about the paper though...but at least you know that even if the paper's not super great...you're still going to grad school :)

London is pretty nice...there's lots to do...a lot of cool restaurants. We get more snow here than in Hamilton...I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing for you. Western's campus is pretty nice, though I've only been there about 3 times because Althouse has a separate campus. Also, cost of living is good...my apartment is only $300/month + utilities, which is cheap, but I think you could easily find a place for $350.
