Why I Hate People Who Protest At Recruitment Centers

This is so seriously irritating to me. Not irritating in that way that the dog next door keeps barking at 1am, irritating like head lice is irritating. Protesting military recruitment on site because you're against the war is probably the most futile and stupid thing you could think of doing for your cause. Thank you! I've been trying to say this all along! I agree whole heartedly with you on this. I hate it when people think its all the soldier's fault when they're just following orders. Most of them couldn't afford not to follow them.

I had parents in the military and I really have strong respect for our Men and Women in uniform. I think this country would be a whole hell of alot better off if we'd just respect each other enough not to make each others lives a living hell.

The worst part is these people flaunt their right in your face like its in the bill of rights for them to be obnoxious pricks.

Personally, I'm not anti-military -- have had parents, relatives, and friends in different branches, for different reasons. I *do* think, based on what I hear back from these people, that at the present moment, the military is being deceptive and on occasion manipulative in their current recruiting techniques, as well as during training. HOWEVER, I think that protests like the one you mention accomplish next to nothing. I only wish the armed services would be more honest and less pushy about what they do, especially when convincing people who are considering leaving the military to go 'protect their buddies' whether or not they support the war. Yes, you want to protect your friends, but that can't make it right to kill people you don't think you have a good reason to be killing

I completely agree. Its so damn annoying. I was ready to walk right into the recruitment center and sit down and just bullshit with the guys just to piss off the recruiters, since it seems that these days people like to flaunt their right to be buttheads.

I think this was a "sanctioned" thing, but the police were obviously highly irritated at being there, since they probably had better things do to with their time.

Maybe some of the people protesting want the soldiers to realize that they're getting shafted.

I'm sure there's better and more courteous ways to do that than standing in front of the recruitment center harrassing anyone who goes near the door
