I can't wait for the school year to end, this summer will be marvelous! I've decided that now, considering my crossing into the threshold of adulthood, it's time that I go exploring into the Muggle world.

Did you know that Muggles can carry music in their pockets? In tiny little boxes! Hours, days worth of songs can be with them wherever they go!

Well, Muggles make up for lack of magic by technology. They invent things that take the place of magic.
I have a bunch of the things you're talking about but I didn't bring them here since they wouldn't work anyways.

...you know, for class you guys should take a field trip to a Muggle born students house or something.

I'm pretty sure they just made up half that book, it has the dumbest things in it. I mean, are we really supposed to believe that Muggles write messages to each other on their phones?

Well, that does seem a bit silly...but I'm sure it's based on fact!

The thing with muggles is that because they don't have magic to be lazy, they instead have to get creative with their useless inventions.

This leads to inventions such as washing machines and driers, like you're talking about, but also to pointless things like escalators or the clapper.

What's a clapper?

First of all, muggles have things called "lightbulbs" - wire that has electricity run through it and it creates light instead of candles. Normally these are mounted on the ceiling and there's a switch on the wall that turns them on or off.

The clapper was invented by someone who found it incredibly inconvenient that they could light an entire room with the flip of a switch. They created a device that was advertised to switch these on with a clap of the hand.

In reality it became a bigger headache as people found themselves clapping for nearly twenty minutes to try and get the thing to work.
