This is the month where it all begins. It's my last month in Norcal and I won't be living here again for a very long time, if ever. Most of you know by now that I quit my job at the market/restaurant. It was the best move I could have ever made. They had pushed me to the last straw and one morning I just walked out and never came back! I have decided, once and for all, that I am going to back to school to pursue either an M.S. or a Ph. D. in Chemistry! I'm applying to San Diego State's doctorate program and either San Jose State or SF State's Masters programs for this Fall. I am soooooooooooo excited I can't even begin to describe it. More later!

Some people find it sad that I've never been out of the country or own a passport for that matter. I don't feel sorry for myself at all because my life is just as eye-opening at my own house as I believe it would be across the Atlantic Ocean. I'm settling into Lafayette really well so far. There are beautiful places for me to run and hike, and the town is great! I love my job! I'm never bored and all of my coworkers are super fantastic people! So, on Saturday I'm packing up the endless loads of stuff I own and moving OUT of my parents house, finally. I've only been here for 2 weeks, and I love my family dearly, but it's time to move on, get a couple jobs, and feel some sense of independence again.
