Cycling...Either using one of the birth control pills designed for cycling (Seasonique and Seasonale are two of them), but working for Cherokee Nation, I dont have the nice stuff (the expensive stuff) so I just use a monophasic pill and have you only take the active pills (the first 21 pills usually) and throw away the week of inactive pills. You can do this safely for 3-6 months. It will train your body away from having periods after a bit! Its great if you are a person who has really bad periods or PMS, or are going on a vacation and want to get ready at least 3 months ahead (to give your body a chance to learn its not supposed to be bleeding!)
Well, in the old days, women who were bleeding were thought to be "unclean" in most cultures! They had to separate themselves from the rest of the tribe or group they lived with. Jewish women had to do a ritual bath after each period to be clean enough again to do everyday things. The advantage to this was that women were not expected to do anything during their period, and just sorta hung out with the other women who were having their periods. Have you read "The Red Tent?" It's wonderful! If you haven't, I'll loan it to you. It would be a great one for the reading group, too
