becuase it's definitely the most captivating Bubla medical drama yet. (Do you like my advertising?) Hint: he could have died. (Do you like my intro?)

wow, that is very scary. im glad everything turned out okay! its definitely hard to think quick in emergency situations, especially when it involves someone you love.

Yeah, I think they should stress that even more in the courses, and maybe hand out little keychain cards to jog people's memory. It seems like a dumb idea to be reading directions when you should be saving a life, but it's certainly better than not being able to remember even that first step...

actually when i went through my CPR training to be a lifeguard they did give us a little business card to put in our wallet that had pictures of the different steps - it didnt even have words on it because i guess they figured you wouldnt have time to actually read it anyway.

so you arent the first one to have that idea! i never used mine, but i can definitely see where it would be helpful. i was certified american red cross. you might see if they just have those cards available, regardless of whether you get the class through them.

Cool. I think we will be re-taking it with them, so I'll ask. An actual keychain card seems more accessible, though (no need to fish in your wallet, which I'd first have to fish out of my bag, as opposed to a coat or pants pocket). I could punch a hole in the official card if it's durable enoguh, but then it would be a little too big for my keys...I'm thinking maybe 2/3 of credit-card size would be ideal. OK, enough of my inventing and advertising thereof :-)

Jesus. I'm glad, obviously, that the whole thing had a happy ending ... In that instance, anybody would have panicked. Anybody who's a parent and who's been granted the basic human emotions that we're all meant to have.

thanks...but I still hope I do better next time. Scratch that - I hope Bubla never has a next time, though it would still be good to know CPR even if it's not about him.

If there ever is a next time (god forbid), you will, but don't be too hard on yourself, if you can help it, because it's very hard to be cool in a crisis if the crisis involved one of your nearest and dearest. Any mother who loves her son would have freaked.

Coincidentally, when my brother and I were little, we did occasionally play dead because we thought it was hilarious. I was staying with my grandparents when I was little because my family were visiting relatives out of state and my grandmother stepped away for a few mintues to answer the phone and came back to find my five-year-old self floating face-down in the bath.

She screamed, and I started spluttering and gagging because it's not advisable to laugh when three-quarters of you is under water.

When she realised I was being an idiot, I got such a spanking...which I probably deserved.

Scary. But at least things turned out well and you can look at it as a wake-up call. It's good to have periodic refresher courses in things like CPR, emergency response, etc.

I think I'll attach a reminder card to my keychain, too.

Kamarádce se tohle stalo před pár lety. Všechno to dopadlo dobře, žádné následky to nemělo. Drž se!

Ahoj, dik.
MMCH hezke fotky!!!
