I work in Special Ed. My daughter (one of them) was dyslexic. (I suppose still is but less severe and it does not hinder her career and college work.) Thanks to good people like you because my kid is proof it works. Supportive parents mean a lot. Sadly the "System" is broken because of political leaders who have no clue about professional education.

It is a job that is hardly thought about by society, when in fact, Special Education teachers should be held with the utmost respect at all times! It is a HUGE job!! And it's so draining, and it seems like anyone would quit after just a few weeks, but day in and day out, you all kick some major ass and keep on keeping on and caring for the kids. My hat is off to you all, for sure!!

I hate everything about public education right now. I feel so sorry for everyone involved in it. And you in the trenches, most of you are saints. It's terrible you aren't given better resources, not just materialistic, but financial and emotional, to do what should be considered one of the most important jobs in this country.

i can't imagine the dedication it takes to keep doing your job with care despite the increasing demands and decreasing resources. i hope your students, their parents, and especially your district know how lucky they are.
