The Land of Iniquity is known through out the rest of the US as "Louisiana." Everything that is fun, but apparently naughty, is done in Louisiana. Want liquor? Better go to Louisiana. Gambling? Louisiana. The river-boat casino may be tied up to this side of the river, but it still gets blamed on them somehow. It's apprently the "Easy State." ( Read more... )

It fills me with quite a bit of... something... to know that y'all call it a "package store" down there too. Note that northern slang also has it as "packy," as in, "I'm going to the packy foah some Sam Adams, anyone want me to grab anything? No? Wicked awesome, I'm just gonna hop on the red line to hit up the Dorch."

Silly Procris, fish is not meat! Fish cannot stampede, nor can it be rustled, branded, or made to go faster my yelling things like 'Git 'long nao!' at it. Clearly, it can't be meat.

although, in a more open-minded culture, it came from an animal, so it could qualify as meat.
Small Town culture is one of the reasons why I'm thrilled to be in DC now - more people! More busy things to do without people being so NOSY!

I have to ask my dad if he shipped the books - but they should get to you next week sometime or maybe the beginning of the week after.
