Internet provider advice

Aug 16, 2006 08:32

Hi everyone,

Katherine and I need a new internet provider as my old account is now closed.

Can anyone in NZ suggest a GOOD internet provider that will give us the full range of basics and also allow a little bit of downloading for around $30 or just over?

Any suggestions would be extremely welcome :)

Cheers,

Griff

It might be useful to compare plans. Check out Consumer

However I am sure people will be able to comment more knowledgably on reliablity and speed.

And hidden costs. This plan means you must have your tolls with telstra clear and a minimum $10 toll spand per month.

I know Xnet is pretty good. *smirk*. The data cap only counts for international traffic too. Of course I'm biased as I'm the Systems Engineer for Xnet :)

Yeah, I'd go for Xnet or Orcon myself too.

I have had a satellite link with Orcon for a month. So far, so good. I envy anyone who can get ordinary broadband or even wireless. Here in rural Hawkes Bay with a radio phone and 16kbs dialup, satellite has been a major improvement for us. We had Paradise for 3 years before this, and the amount of spam you get with them is diabolical. I think their spam filters do not work at all.
