PICARATS 017 [VIDEO/ACTION IN CIANWOOD]

Aug 22, 2011 17:00

[ Lookie here, check out this gorgeous view of the sea. The way the water is so clear and the sun shining brightly down on it. It seems like the perfect day for a swim and the perfect day to be outside, especially on the beach. Those by the Cianwood and Olivine beach should get out right now and sit right there, just like what the good old ( Read more... )

That is correct! In twenty years, the man will be sixty while his daughter is thirty, make this puzzle completely possible.

[ The Professor pulls out his notebook and pen, scribbling in the won picarats besides Bakura's name. ] Will you like to solve more puzzles or exchange your picarats for prizes now?

Haha, then here is another one. This will be worth twenty-five picarats:

"Two days ago, a boy was seventeen years old. The next year, he will be twenty. How is this possible?"

He's forty years old, she's ten.

[Cooper will totally embrace any puzzles you can throw at him, Professor. But not before backtracking a little in that monologue of his.]

It's only two months until my own anniversary. Time really does fly here.

Yes, that is the correct answer! If the man is forty, then he is indeed four times older than the daughter. In twenty years, their ages will also fit the specifications that the puzzle has asked for. Well done.

[ Writing the picarats that Cooper won into his notebook now. ] Time does indeed seem to be slipping through our fingers. I don't believe anyone might have thought they will be staying here for this long.

I certainly didn't.

So what's the other anniversary you mentioned?

It is not terribly important.

[ No really, it's not and that's all he is going to say on the matter. No hint coins for this. ]

The father is forty and the daughter ten.

Unless I forgot to carry the two. I always forget to carry the two.

No need to carry the two, Doctor, because your answer is the correct one. Like you have said, the man is forty and the daughter is ten. So in twenty years time, the man will be sixty while the daughter is thirty, fitting perfectly into the puzzle. Very well done.

[ Goes to write in his notebook with the picarats won. ] Will you like a shot at another puzzle or will you like to exchange your picarats for prizes?

Oh, I love puzzles. Let's have another one, it's been a while since I got to be clever.

[And so modest.]

Haha, then here is a more difficult one that is worth thirty picarats:

"A man was in court to be sentenced for theft. The judge told him; "you may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to five years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to ten years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?"

A year? That is both admirable, and just a little sad I think. Happy anniversary then. And well wishes for whatever this second mystery one may be.

[[You've got her thinking about how long she's been here now. As well as her friends. And everyone, really. It is both an amazing thought, and a depressing one at the same time. All the things you would miss back home. All the people you don't get to speak to.

...well, not that she really misses anything from back home too much. But still.]]

As for your puzzle, I do believe he would be forty, and she would be ten as, in twenty years time, he would then be sixty and she would be thirty.

Thank you for your wishes and yes, I do have to admit that I miss London, but I have settled nicely into Johto. I have met many different people here and have enjoyed my stay here so far, so I do not mind it so much.

[ There might have been some bad times since he has been around here, especially for that one time when all the nightmares he has had turned into hallucinations, breaking his arm, dealing with Claire being alive again, but he has quite liked it here in Johto. ] And yes, that is correct! It is just like you have said, making that the right answer to the puzzle. Will you like another puzzle or exchange your picarats for prizes?

You are from London? Is it as lovely as they say? [[There's a nod as she agrees with settling into Johto.]]

It's a pleasant place for the most part. It has it's moments, but overall a most welcoming place indeed. One I wouldn't mind spending more time in. And another puzzle would be wonderful, if you wouldn't mind.

Yes, it truly is. This might be biased because I am from there, but it's a lovely city. The view from Big Ben is really breathtaking. [ Not like the average person can go up into Big Ben and take a look outside, but then again, the Professor isn't just an average person. ]

If you have any questions about Johto, I will be more than glad to help and splendid. Here is another puzzle for fifteen picarats once again:

"What is once in a minute, twice in a moment, and never in a thousand years?"

It seems a lot of us are hitting our one year mark.

Yes, it seems so. It also doesn't seem like the number of people arriving in Johto is lowering either.

Whatever is pulling people in isn't slowing down, I guess. This place is populating...

Yes, there is much more people than last year. I do hope that we don't reach the point where this world will be overpopulated.
