Picarats 005 [VIDEO/ACTION IN ROUTE 30/31]

Sep 20, 2010 15:55

[It's finally day time and the fog has finally disappeared. And like a lot of the other people here sending in relief messages all over the network, Professor Hershel Layton is doing the same.

The camera shakes for a few seconds and there's a horrible muffling sound as the Professor is positioning his gear once again. He really made it a habit to ( Read more... )

[video] Hopefully getting the game this weekend. 8D redcinematics September 20 2010, 23:14:42 UTC
[Fellow Brit! How did he not catch you on the network all this time?]

Ah, you captured a Duskull as well? Adorable, aren't they? Rather naughty too.

[His expression becomes a bit more somber at the thought of the weekend's events.]

I am glad that it is all over myself. I hate the feeling of losing myself for any amount of time.

[video] \o/ It's a great game and I can't put it down. Hope you get it! <3 profpuzzle September 20 2010, 23:45:13 UTC
[Because the Professor is secretly a ninja in disguise. How else could a man of his age run away from a Ferris Wheel so fast?]

Well, adorable may not be a word I would use to describe them, but yes, quite the little pranksters. They caused a great deal of chaos for the span of a few days.

And I agree, sir. It is a feeling that many of us dislike. I am sure that no one would like to lose their right minds in a world such as this.

[So, so true.]

Indeed... Perhaps they will be able to redeem themselves now that they've been captured, mm~?

I am just thankful that I didn't injure my poor Pokémon in all the madness. [He just injured like ten people. But it's coo'.]

Perhaps so. Though it seems like they are much more friendly once they are captured. I do not know if it is because they too were affected by other Pokemon, they were just caught up in everything, or they are just playing another horrible prank on us.

Ah, and thank goodness that I have not hurt my Pokemon either. Thankfully, they were in their balls for the entire night I have...experienced my nightmare...

[guess who is willing to be a pal and take up the Professor's offer on those puzzles.

Guess who also looks about as beat as the Professor does, too. That doesn't seem to matter, because he's grinning like an idiot right now]

Did someone say riddles?

Haha, I believe you have heard right, my boy. I am always up and ready to give and receive any riddles and puzzles.

Alright then, my boy. This one requires some knowledge of the English language. Please do give it a try though:

"You are trapped in a room with no windows, doors, or any exits. The walls are ten feet thick and there is no one to help you escape. The only things in the room is a mirror and a table. How do you escape?"

[60 picarats for this one! C'mon Kaito, you can do it! Look at that huge number!]

Miss Mouse...Thank you for...helping me on that night. I have to thank both you and Luke greatly.

And I am glad to see that you are fine. Are you feeling a lot better?

I didn't really do anything... but you are welcome.

I'm sure I'll be feeling much better once I get a good night's sleep. But it was wonderful, truly, to see everyone pull together and help each other out.

Yes, it is wonderful to see everyone helping one another. It is times like these when we realize that we might need each others' support as much as we can.

A puzzle sounds good.

It's good to see that no one was seriously hurt.

Yes, it is wonderful to see that everyone is back to their senses and not seriously injured. But with all the chaos that has happened during the past weekend, I would not be surprised if someone did get hurt.

[Take a look at the Professor himself. His hands were covered in brown paper cut bandages. It's a miracle he even had enough to give a few to Luke and to cover his own fingers with it.]

Ah, and here's a puzzle for you, ma'am!

"I have holes in my top and bottom, my left and right, and in the middle. But I still hold water. What am I?"

[15 picarats for this little riddle!]

[video] greenwindchange September 21 2010, 02:05:41 UTC
[The answer comes almost instantly.] A cork. It has little holes in it, but it's still watertight.

Hurt, yes, but not life-threatiningly. As least, so far as I've heard.

[Not exactly the answer he had in mind, but it actually works out! Extra points for that!]

That is correct! That original answer that I had in mind was a sponge, but you have came up with an answer that also fit the criteria! Very nice job!

[And so he jots down the 15 picarats plus an extra five for outsmarting him at the part. That is one heck of a reward, both the picarats and managing to find an answer that the Professor hasn't thought of.]

Ah, yes, I so far haven't heard of any life-threatening injuries, and I hope it will stay that way. I know there are a few with minor injuries, but nothing too big.

[Sup Professor how do you like being greeted by a giant bear. Luke's sitting on Mr. Bear's shoulders, looking sleepy himself. That hasn't stop him from testing out his new Pokemon, however. The boy rubs his eyes and glances down.]

Professor, you look really tired.

[Says Captain Obvious.

He glances over at the ghost Pokemon floating nearby with a nervous stare. Ghosts and Luke have never gotten along too well, and this whole nightmare event and being chased by evil headless ghost Laytons didn't help that fear.]

I-is it really necessary to have that out...?

[He prefers his derpy-looking giraffe Pokemon, really. =(]

[The Professoor looks up from his log. Bloody hell, he is never going to get over the fact how huge Mr. Bear was now. One moment the little Pokemon is around his thighs and now she's was about a head taller than him.]

Yes, I could say the same about you, my boy. We both should get some rest soon.

[And the Duskull is just staring right back at Luke. Hey, how do you like that glowing red eye of its? He really likes it, if you ask him. It's pretty neat, no?

The Professor glances at his new arrival of the team. He lets out a silent sigh and shakes his head.]

I apologize, Luke, but I am afraid that this one won't get inside its ball for longer than five minutes before bursting out. This Duskull might prove to be a bit more of a problem than Walter.

[Heck, the Professor didn't even name the little skull-thing. Way too tired to really think of any names.]

You look more tired than I-

[Before he can finish that sentence, he yawns.]

Some sleep does sound pretty good right now...

[And just a nervous glance at the little Duskull. It's creepy-looking all right.]

Hope it doesn't plan on giving us more nightmares or anything like that.

[The Professor gives a light chuckle.]

You should go sleep, Luke. A growing boy needs his rest. I will stay up a bit longer.

[Nightmares? Why would you even accuse me of such a thing, boy? I'm just a harmless, cute little Pokemon...yeah, that Duskull is just staring at you for accusing it of such a thing, Luke...it's kinda hard to tell if it's thinking of a scheme or just likes to stare.]

I will have Walter keep an eye on it. It doesn't seem to be showing any signs of aggression, but better safe than sorry as they say.
