Applying Occam's razor to fictional time travel

In the last few years I have settled on what I can't help but feel is the inarguably most elegant way to resolve time travel when used as a plot device, particularly in regards to in-story concerns over "temporal paradoxes". There's also the time travel convention where backwards time travel obliterates the original timeline from the reentry-point forward. It basically ends with the same logic of the multi-timeline concept, but a lot less messy.
