This was fascinating - I remember reading Amanda Palmer's blog when she was finally free of her label, and I can totally understand the need to get out of a bad deal.
To celebrate, I share this "I got out of my label" song of Palmer's, that I adore :)

I get what he was going for, sort of a dissonant industrial tension, but it's like Steve Reich scored the first Terminator movie. This is the sort of thing Nine Inch Nails would sample in the late 80's, but at least there'd be some slinky bass or drums over it. (Come to think of it, 'Reptile' may've been precisely this.)
I don't often say "I'm going to listen to King Crimson to get back to normal," but that's what I'm about to do. ("Frame by Frame," I think.)
