I feel weird about the people, especially the 20- and 30-somethings, who are shelling out hundreds and hundreds of dollars for new video game systems that will only inadvertently drive them further away from the abundance of social interaction they really need instead ( Read more... )

"With great gaming comes great responsibility..." I think that's how that goes? :)

Charleston, eh? Excellent! I have more free time of late, as I was telling Donnie last Friday. Perhaps some merriment and social interaction can be arranged post-Turkey Day!

If I'm not working over break I'll have LOTS of time to spend merrying things up. We should convene a war council to forecast how soon before Raeann comes to her senses, and then what we should do with the fractured shell that will be RJ.

(I'm kidding, of course. Raeann would be a fool to leave an awesome hunk of man-meat like RJ.)

...is a war council really necessary? Sounds like you're plotting where to send the troops in the event of a break up...

It's unfortunate RJ and I won't be in town for Thanksgiving :( We will be in for Christmas though! X-mas Day - New Year's Day! So perhaps social interaction can be had at that time.

maybe it's just the fact that most of us are tired of society in general. war, disease, death, destruction and all sorts of craziness. you can't turn on the tv or read a magazine without being bombarded by the hypno-trendy, mtv based, scripted reality that it seems everyone can't get enough of. not to mention the fact that 70% of the people you come in contact with once you step out your door are assholes...but that's just my opinion. i may be a little cynical. yeah, so after a hard day of sitting on my ass and typing, i like to relax with a nice cold root beer and retreat to the safe, warm confines of my virtual world. let's make with the killing of some NPC's!

70% of the people? That's a positively bright-eyed estimate, my friend. Especially considering all the postal workers you encounter daily. =D

American society is pretty goddamn sad. College kids are worse. GODDAMN.

Sigh. Oh well. I can't kill my friends (yet), so NPCs are the next-best thing.

If you can't beat them, join them!

And then convert the party to a raid and get more people so you can go kill the dragons!

Except in our case, the dragons represent our cultural insecurities and our raid group's primary weapon is a healthy dose of wisdom, with healers sending out love.

Recipe for peace!
