Each new day is an epiphany.

I stood on my porch last night, long past my bedtime - shivering a bit with dreary eyes and slouched shoulders, I presume. And I breathed in the rain - each time, a bit deeper than before. As the breaths became deeper, my smile grew wider, and everything felt alright. I thought to myself, "There is that old question of, if you had to choose one ( Read more... )

Aww. My apologies if this entry kinda rubbed that in at all. No doubt, experiencing just about anything is worth accepting the good with the bad. I have smelled some raunchy things, but some wonderful things as well. I have seen awful things, but beautiful things as well. I have tasted things that nearly made me puke, and things that were like culinary orgasms. I have heard some of the most ridiculous, hateful words I can imagine, and words that flow like poetry in a natural way. I have felt misery and complete apathy towards the world, and I have felt so happy that I believed myself absolutely invincible.

You are right - touch is important. I like to try to make a point of not denigrating the importance of any sense though. If you just take the time to appreciate them, they are all absolutely wonderful in their own unique ways. Though, at times, I might wish that some of them were a bit more acute, I think I would feel completely lost without any one of them.

the smell of the pink bubble-gum medicine I got from the docotr when I had the flu.

axe. if osama bin laden wore enough axe, i'd be his.

this one girl i know has the smell that follows her that is not a perfume, but could pass for one. it's sweet and in a non-homoerotic sort of way, provocative. the only other place i smell it is back stage at the tivoli theatre, and occasionally in passing on the street.

down town. around every corner is the smell of a new food. hotdogs, ziti, funnel cakes, buffalo wings, ice cream, milk, fried chicken...all mixed in with the smell of humdid river air, pine trees, and old houses.

that one unsmellable scent that's more

Ha.. medicine. I used to be such a fiend for Dimetapp as a child because I loved grape-flavored stuff. I would try to make up excuses to take some Dimetapp. Kinda liked Triaminic too, but mostly Dimetapp.

Any particular kind of Axe? I used to wear Axe (Orion or Touch).. and still have some, but rarely use it.

I went for a nice little stroll down Broad and Market the other day. Can't say I noticed all of those scents, but there were a lot of interesting ones - mostly food and coffee. I wasn't really doing anything - just walking around and killing time, but I enjoyed myself.

Once in a while, there will be a scent or a taste that reminds me of something from a long time ago. And I won't be able to place what it is, which irritates me to no end because it seems so familiar. I am always afraid that I will forget it because I don't have anything to reference it against..

Dippin' Dots(yes, there is a smell as such): the White Water theme park in GA. First time I had them was the first time I went to a theme park.

Abercrombie's Woods Cologne: My boyfriend of nearly three years wore this the first time I met him.

Fresh Paint: Always reminds me of set work, particularly at City.

Hazelnut Coffee: My father

Horse: Bliss

Dippin' Dots make me think of aimlessly wandering around Hamilton Place and/or going to Six Flags with an old friend of mine. I've never thought that they had much of a smell to them though.

Fresh paint.. kind of ironic. My dad decided to paint our den this afternoon. Paint fumes in enclosed spaces apparently do not go over too well with asthmatic people.

*cough, cough*
