I don’t always feel like a writer. For a long time, I didn’t tell people I wrote, much less refer to myself as a writer. A longtime friend of mine pointed out to me just how little I talk about it with a genuinely confused look and the words, “You write?” I guess ( Read more... )

"I write and write and write, not because I think I am any good at it, but because that’s how I think-unravel my thoughts in a way that makes sense to me."
...well said. Not that I think you're not any good at writing (I have preciosu little to go on), but because it verbalizes how I feel, too.

p.s. Thanks for using the word "Dichotomy". The world needs more dichotomies (dichotomi?)

she used it because i use it. i have a pathetically small arsenal of "smart words" i use--and with their over-frequence, they rub off on her.

this week, it's dichotomy.

i was a writer, too. however i stopped telling people once i figured out that i hated the writer crowd and they were mostly selfish, arrogant people who wanted their thoughts and ideas shoved on to everyone who ooooed and awwwwed at their stupid statement of "i'm a writer".

Well hello Mindy,

I would just like to throw out there that I like the way you write.
Many a times as I read what you write I get the feeling like you are dancing with words. That may sound very odd, its a compliment I assure you. I can explain it more sometime. ( I too feel this way when i write something in my own little way, or say it just so, it feels like a dance to me, a quick step).

p.s- i would like to plan something with you and Chad soon.

i've decided that nanowrimo, while a good idea, is flawed.

november? midterms? it won't happen. it can't happen.

and i agree with holland.

It does seem like November is a busy month. It certainly was for me. I have heard or high school and college classes focusing on Nanowrimo or adapting the idea to a creative writing class, which is very cool.

also, thanks chris!
