I tend to be more of a pushover with society's rules, though it didn't happen overnight. I've learned to tamp down the prickly rugged individualism that I probably inadvertently picked up from AZ rednecks despite being in opposition to them, and instead emulate the easy carefree preppy boys I've always admired, whose obscene level of privilege insulates them from ever needing to be anything but sweet gentle puppies.
I'm probably not a night owl at heart, certainly not in practice at the moment, but I too know the existential headache of being judged by my ability to punch a clock every day at a snoozy morning hour, more so than I am judged by higher level skills and abilities. It's such a perpetual fight that I have a whole genre of music listening dedicated to "God help me it's morning again".
