Any Mac Geniuses out there? All my files appear to be intact, but the system itself is giving me headaches. Here's a running tally of my current problems

I'm no Mac Genius but I used to be an all-around geek. Seems like you're most likely problem is a corrupted Hard Drive. Could bad RAM or something fixable by reinstalling the OS but Hard Drive errors would be my primary suspect.

I'd suggest backing up as much as possible then [google google]use the OS X Disc Utility

Thank you, that makes sense. I don't have my OS CD with me, though.

I had to make an appointment at the Apple Store in Bethesda. Stupid expensive zip codes.
