Hey fellow musicians!!

So a few months ago I started teaching a weekly music class for my capoeira group. Capoeira music is all percussion, with tambourine, congo and an instrument called the berimbau. As one of those adults with little musical knowledge I'm not sure what value I can be. But I think I've learned a lot from playing Guitar Hero/Rock Band over the last year. When I started I was the worst, I had no rhythm or any sense of the patterns involved. Now I've gotten pretty decent and it's definitely improved my appreciation of music and probably would make me a much better performer, at least if everything I had to do were represented by colored blocks falling from the sky.

I don't know if a Rock Band jam session would be useful or feasible for your class... but it'd be fun.
