I've had a letter from my local college to say that I've been accepted on to the course that I applied for. I had to go for an interview and do a reading comprehension test last week. I've been reading reasonably well and comprehending pretty much all of it for over 25 years, so the test wasn't all that bad. I saw some other people at the

Congratulations. I did my later education by distance (including honours which was NOT fun) but I think your way will be much better...

Well, the idea of studying certainly appeals to me more now than it did when I was in my teens.

Great news! Mature students are much more usual these day; I bet you aren't the oldest by a long way.

People have been telling me that and it certainly is encouraging to hear. I know that age shouldn't make a difference, but I think I would feel more comfortable in a class of mixed ages rather than with everybody else being 10+ years younger than me.
