I've let so many people down today...and all I can say is that I'm sorry...which rings hollow. I just can't

I'll be in DC with 80 eighth graders for the next three days starting at 6 AM tomorrow.

why do I sign up for this every year?

This cracked me up. Give it a shot and stay to the end. It's worth it imo.

Today was calling hours and the funeral for the student at my school who died from his gunshot wound on Tuesday of last week. I only went to calling hours as I did not want to create too much of a hassle for my bosses who would need to find me a sub for when I was out. Last night, one of my students was shot in the chest in a drive by shooting. He was inside his house with his family. Someone drove by and fired about 20 AK -47 rounds into the house, killing a 26 year old man who was allegedly the target, and wounding my student severely. I found myself on youtube from high school. That's me on the quads (four drums.) This took me back. brought a smile...nothing spectacular, but took me back to thinner days at least.
