Travel - no Tanzania in Oct 2010
Oh Damn democratic processes!
It looks like Tanzania is set to have General elections in October 2010, so its probably a bit foolish to go there then.
Bugger bugger bugger, I really wanted to see the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Zanzibar. I'm sure I checked all this stuff months and months ago when I chose the date. Damn Damn Damn Damn!

Going to Africa - Advice please!
I'm planning on going to Southern Africa in October. I'm going by myself so I think I'll book myself onto a small group tour for safety but the problem I have is that I have a stack of tour company fliers as tall as my arm. Star Trek fic Rec
I just read a good Star Trek kid fic that I would like to share. I enjoyed the language and style of the story, I think the characters were very well written. The only warning I I would add is don't start reading it late at night! I didn't get to be until 4am yesterday due to this damn fic *grin*

Burglary :(
I was at a cousins wedding all night yesterday, and it looks like somebody has tried to break into my house while I was away. They smashed up a window at the back of my house (and then bizarrely neatly stacked the glass on a towel that was hanging from my washing line). But it doesn't look like they got inside. Indulgently Miserable
Nothing much seems to be going right for me this week:- I managed to slice my hand open on a broken glass while doing the dishes on Monday morning and had to get 2 stitches in my thumb and a tetanus shot,
