Does anyone have a discount/coupon code for the Apple store they don't plan on using? Some percentage off, or one of those sexy $30 off an order of $300 or more, perhaps? ;;)
I don't have one - but you could use the Apple student discount if you order online. They never bother to check to see if you're actually a student. LOL
Granted it's not a HUGE discount but every little bit helps.
I tried accessing it through the education thinger and put in my old college and everything, but the price and my virtual cart were exactly the same for student and as a regular punk w/o student status. o_O I know I had a decent discount when I bought the first one a few years ago and pretended to be in college still . . . maybe the discount shows up later in the checkout process? >.>
I don't think it shows up later but i can't remember now. I got a pretty good discount when I got my iPod with that. Maybe they're not discounting the iPods anymore.
I do know that each school sets up it's own account w/Apple which has a different discount policy for each one. For example I recently had to get some software that was NOT discounted with the school I'm going to now but was discounted with the school I went to a long time ago. I just went with that old school - they never bother to check those things. So I wonder if maybe another school will show more of a discount? *goes to look*

The free shipping dealio is good through the end of the month, I think.

Um, hi, me again :). My boyfriend was travelling in America last autumn (I presume you're from America yourself) and there was this thing where if you ordered from Amazon, you didn't pay the tax and he bought his mac computer this way, saved a bunch of money (they are much more expensive in Europe :/). I'm not sure how it works with the ipods as well but if every cent counts so to speak it may be worth a look into it? See if they sell the one you want and if there's still that thing where you don't pay the tax if you order from Amazon :). I'd still recommend you go to a apple store if you haven't yet so that you see and hold what you're buying in your hand before final decision.
:) Well, this time I followed a link from my flist since Tara asked folks to help you with coupons and I remembered about the thing my boyfriend told me about with the Amazon. I have her friended, mostly for the Dan photos she posts occasionally. I was almost helpless in my choice of ipod as my boyfriend picked it up for me... :P First he tried to get me all enthusiastic for the nano, then for the classic but then he decided the nano would be better for me and that's what he got me. I love it, but it is true that I would have liked to have a bit more space on it. :)

I took your advice about Amazon, because in addition to being tax-free, the iPods themselves are actually cheaper, which I did not realize. o_O I can definitely live without an engraved little toy when it means saving eighty bucks on my order. So I bought the black 160GB model and a nice little suede and leather case for a little under $325 (when you factor in the $25 Amazon gift certificate I had sitting around, muahaha) instead of $400+ on Apple.com. :D Yay for occasional reward certificates from using Amazon's credit card! I owe it all to you, lady. B-)
Hey, a free iPod gift is nothing to scoff at. :> I bought Tara a Nano a year or so ago for . . . some holiday or occasion that escapes me ))) and I think she used it for a couple months and promptly forgot about it, just like I did with my first one. :P What can you do?
Bacon really does make the world go 'round. :)) I'll take a wild guess and assume that with alllllllll the practice, Potter has effectively mastered the art of all things bacon, and would be insulted at anyone forcing instructions on him. (I doubt Tara would mind it as much, on the other hand. :-")
