If you read my post Stuff and the like, you'll know that Ginny has fleas and that I had to go to the vet to get some Advantage for her after figuring out how much she weighs. Well, I couldn't figure out an easy way to do that without going out and buying a scale. So, I decided just to take her with me (after calling to see if it was ok - it was ( Read more... )

We probably should feed her a bit less but I don't think it's a MAJOR concern considering the Vet didn't say anything about it. As for the fleas... yeah, but that was over about a week's time so all in all, not bad - they like the cat more than me. But, it's been officially 17hrs since the application so all the fleas ON her at the time should be dead and any new ones that find her are supposed to die within 2 hrs of contact ^_^ We should be flea free VERY soon!

Generally just refill it when it's gone... but that has (for the most part) been pretty routine ;) I think it adverages to 3x a day.. but she has a small bowl

How's the flea situation going? Hopefully (?) you are finding lots of dead fleas on the carpet... >_< Chips and Oreo hate the car too. I always feel so bad for them.

She's still scratching and I still see some on her, but it is DEFINITELY improved... just not completely cured.

Fleas aren't fun. I'd offer advice about the kitty car rides, but I've never had much luck with keeping them calm either. And as for the weight... I think chubby cats are cute, lol!

I did, and I am wondering what the news about your dad was. You said it wasn't public knowledge yet so you didn't want to post about it yet, so can you mention it now?

Fleas huh? *shudders and cringes* Well, it's been like 760 hours or so by now, so hopefully they're all deceased.

As for the food, we probably underfeed Honey. She certainly thinks we do, but we feed her on a routine, as dicetomato mentioned. ticklemerisi handles all feeding actually, but gives her food never more than twice per day and usually only once and not a large amount either. For a larger cat, more food would probably be appropriate, but she won't starve if you ration her food more, so you could just try it and see.

As for the car trips, is she loose in the car or in a cat carrier? I'd highly recommend the cat-in-a-bag routine. Ginny may resist initial bag entry (I think the gnomes came up with a mechanism for that), but once inside, she should mellow out for the ride. Ever tried it on her?
