This is too short for an LJ blog and too long for fb, but lets do it anyway: The incident west has me doing a little internal reflection, and it occurs to me that I've reverted back to my childhood. I rarely got close to people because it was not common that I knew them more than 8 months: either I moved or they did. Then everyone started dying

I have a very similar defense mechanism, but then again, we had pretty much the exact same upbringing.
