In the beginning the crew said that after we reached the Shore we could do as we liked. Try to go home, etcetera. This information has only recently come to light, it's not being spoon-fed us by the crew in an attempt to keep us quiet.
Coming from different points in time doesn't mean a thing - except that it's more likely the entire... fabric of our worlds is gone, disrupted. Unless of course you can come up with a way that all of us, after being here, could go back into the normal flow of history?
