If I never step on a boat again after this trip is over, it will be too soon.

How many are left from this time last year? If this attrition keeps up, there won't even be anyone left who remembers Lucy Sanne. Good times.

All you soft, wide-eyed newcomers - if no one's told you yet, your home worlds - dimensions, etcetera - are gone. You'll ( Read more... )

kick you while you're down, i hate playing nice, making a bad situation worse, idle hands blah blah, but why is the even gone, shall we stir the pot, i miss my gun

I've had several blanks in my memories filled in.

There are blanks that no one can fill in, Batou.

[Except Erol. And damn, he's not talking.]

If you'd keep your ears open, you'd have heard it months ago. What's the matter, sandstorms grind them down to round-ear nubs?

Right, months ago.

[He says this like a confirmation. There's also a slight undertone of superiority, but then again, when isn't there?]

I remember Lucy. I couldn't understand him.

There aren't many in this world - or many others, apparently - who do make sense.

It's not surprising.

...wait, what? Sanne?

[There's no way that's a common name.]

That's my girlfriend's name back home. There was someone here with that name?

Well he could have passed for a girl, that's for certain.

Tasty little thing. Disappeared a while back, though.

Wouldn't've been my girl, her name's Elisa Sanne. An' she's definitely a girl; I been there.

[Could this person be related...? Or maybe just a wild coincidence. Probably a coincidence.]

So, he was a boy, right? From where? You know?

psychoticracer October 26 2009, 06:58:51 UTC
Heh. And Lucian was definitely a boy.

[Odd coincidence. Lucian, Elisa? Hmmm.]

Damn if I ever asked him. He did rather sound a bit like you, though... and that Herz fellow.

This information again? I've already been told of this but I've yet to see or hear any proof offered for the theory, and it seems highly unlikely based on other observations.

Praytell, what observations would those be?

I've been here thirteen months and I find it highly believable.

First, there seems to be a lack of any motive or means to do something like that, which I'll admit isn't exactly evidence since the idea that they could pull so many people from different realities onto the boat in such a way means that they have some unknown amount of power, but it certainly is something to consider. I've been told that the crew doesn't exactly care about any of the passengers one way or another, but if their interactions with us are meant to gain favor with their Captain then it's obvious that he has some interest in our being here. They may simply wish to keep us from trying to find a way back, and what better way to avoid that than to say that there's no longer anywhere to go back to? Even if the crew is stating this it may be a possibility but I don't think we can say that they're probably telling us the truth quite yet ( ... )

Ah, but you're missing information.

In the beginning the crew said that after we reached the Shore we could do as we liked. Try to go home, etcetera. This information has only recently come to light, it's not being spoon-fed us by the crew in an attempt to keep us quiet.

Coming from different points in time doesn't mean a thing - except that it's more likely the entire... fabric of our worlds is gone, disrupted. Unless of course you can come up with a way that all of us, after being here, could go back into the normal flow of history?

[Erol's actually quite smart. He just doesn't apply himself very often.]
