My dad is recovering okay, and is out of the hospital having speech and physical rehab. He can speak some short sentences now. He's very smiley and happy, and has been having fun at Mom's expense since before he could talk, so I guess most of his personality is there. Today I feel exhausted and my stomach and head ache. Yesterday I was also quite tired. It's another 'get through the day' day at worklife. John is out in SF for a few days. Yesterday I got the news that one of the professors here who I worked with recently on a project, will die in a few days. I knew she was having a second round of chemo, but cancer seems so unpredictable these days that I was optimistic. I seem to be improving bit by bit, but it's not easy going. I have had fewer sweating-at-night adventures, but more weird headstim hijinks. Yesterday I didn't have any caffeine until one and it felt like my head was going to detach itself from my body! I've been walking a ton and sweating quite easily. The day I returned to Seattle I felt some pain in my left ear. It felt as if something was trying to emerge from my head and spurt Gak all over the wall. John suspected an ear infection, so I saw a doctor Tuesday. No infection, just a large accumulation of fluid in my ear and head. Gah. Sudafed for several weeks, supposedly, is the remedy. The sickness continues. I've been able to get up a bit better, but sometimes feel abjectly gloomy and have somatic symptoms like random shooting pains. Or maybe I just pulled my hip flexor again somehow. There's been overreaction to things like the kitchen counter being dirty (crying fit).
