Under attack
I had something tonight that I haven't had in quite some time: an asthma attack. I'm not sure what started it. I went to bed and woke up about an hour later coughing and having trouble breathing. The day after the Virginia Tech shootings, one of my students, noting the fact that the shooter was an immigrant, said, "See? That's why we need to stop foreigners from coming to the United States." my grades sucked
I got my grades--4 A's, a B, and a C. I never got an effing C before. No dean's list this semester.
This makes my overall GPA a 3.5 something. Even if I get all A's next semester, I will still only end up with around a 3.65. The school requires a 3.7 to graduate cum laude. I really, really wanted to have that bit of Latin announced after my name ( Read more... ) -

Money, that's what I want
I decided to take out Perkins loans this year. The nice thing about these loans is that if you’re going into teaching, you can get portions of it waived for each year you teach in either in a designated poverty-stricken district or teach in an area in which your state has a shortage. One fine day
Today was excellent, most excellent. Waffles for breakfast, then I headed off to campus to study. It was nice and sunny outside, so I walked. It’s only three quarters of a mile from my place. I walked a lot last year, but my crazy schedule this semester means I have to have my car every day.
