Dust In The Wind

I threw my life away last week.

Well, not all of it but definitely a good-sized chunk. The last time that we moved, we put things off for so long that when the day finally came, we had no choice but to just throw literally everything into boxes, take it with us, and resort to going through it later. At the time, this was thought to not be a ( Read more... )

Yep - that's been my week - week before - week before - I'm a clutter-busting machine, and it's emotionally very draining!

Growing up has advantages, but sux too.

i have one box with that kind of stuff in it. whenever we move or re-organize, adam is like "hey do you want to keep this stuff?" and i always flip out and tell him to leave it alone. there used to be 3 boxes like that though, now there's just this one little box. i guess i can allow myself that, hehe.

It’s very strange. My 20’s were spent in a fog of no money, misspent youth, uncertainty, delusion and repression. Now squarely in my 30’s, I find myself much more concerned with whether or not I’ll get enough sleep tonight, whether or not my husband has a good day at work, getting home to see my kitties, making sure that I surf cnn.com at least once so I know at least a little bit about what’s going on in the world. No longer are my days fueled by trying to fit in a run to the store to buy alcohol, or going up the street to smoke with my friend.

I don’t know how it happened…and I’m a little sad to see it go…but I’m glad that it went.

Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself.

Your description of your 20's was so right on, I could have written it word for word. I was kind of depressed myself when I realized that I had grown up. I still like to have fun but now it's sedate fun. Movies, bowling, staying in with hubby. I do sometimes miss my youth. I get the urge to call up old friends who I don't talk to much anymore because their immaturity annoys me, but just to see if they want to go clubbing with me, or go partying. I never do, but those urges haven't gone away yet. Great post :)

Great post! I can TOTALLY relate! I do miss some things about my 20's but there sure is a lot I don't miss or that I am enjoying about the 30's.
