I finished my stint of jury duty this past week and a half. The process broadened my understanding of how a court room works. I’ve seen proceedings as an affiant in civil detention cases (it’s been a while, though, thank goodness,) and I’ve watched hearings unfold for clients dealing with criminal cases. My writing has suffered over the past years. Just as I've gained 50 pounds over the last 5 years, my writing has slowly lost it's spring.
