Ah... random news morning
See... I often read some news at the beginning of my day... and sometimes what leaps out at me isn't the point of the story... and very often, it's not a pretty thing that leaps out at me.
U.S. teens get sex education, but not from parents
..."Nearly 10 percent of young women aged 18 to 24 said their first intercourse was involuntary."...
So, really... USA - a culture of rape... a reality...
Ya know 10 ladies in this age range... most likely 1 was raped her first time...
..."Thirty percent of girls aged 15 to 17 reported they had engaged in sex; this rose to 70.6 of girls aged 18 to 19."...
Ok... so more math here... 70% of ladies 18-19 have had sex.
AND
1 in 10 was raped first...
So you know 100 ladies; About 70 have had sex, and 7 were raped first.
FIRST. This isn't including the ones who were raped later.
And really do any of the guys in our lives wonder why the ladies they know are pretty angry or upset at the world out there... Why we fear for our friends, family and loved ones? Anyone wonder why we ask folks to be 'that guy or that girl'?? It's not our imaginations. It's not just somewhere else, in some other country. It's not a few of us being all freaky. It's not something that can be swept under the carpet.
Circumcision helps protect men, not women from AIDS.
Well, I can see I'm not up on men's health then - as I didn't know how or why foreskin removal would protect men from AIDS... however, thinking that removing a dude's foreskin would somehow keep their partner from getting their AIDS - Um... DUH!~ No.
Gee, I remember when the Harry Potter series was bashed by all the Christians...
Conservative Christian reviews of the new HP movie are surprisingly positive.
So, wait. They had to wait to see the movie before they were UP for HP? WTF? I love the old quote from 2000 they have from the author quoting someone else as sayin: ...'A book is like a mirror. If a fool looks in, you can't expect a genius to look out.'...
And yanno... 2003 - the pope before he was the pope - was calling HP a subtle seduction... and now that it's a movie... it's all ok? WTFOBQQ?

Oh... wait... the cyclist announced the withdrawal on Friday morning... the crash was late Thursday... *grinz*

Another reason NOT to EVER get a Kindle.
So basically - you bought the book - amazon says you OWN the digital copy you have bought.
Yet, they went and deleted copies from people's kindles?!! Ya. Way big brother feeling there. And gee, couldn't have happened to a more to the point book huh? G.Orwell's gotta be giggling in the ether... *hisss*
