Wig or NO wig

' Wig or NO wig', that was the question.  I've decided on no wig.  I've been "bald and beautifull for months now and I have several wide brim hats I can wear to protect the bald noggin so I've decided not to even buy those  little wisps of hair (stuck on with double sided tap) to make it look like I  have sideburns, or a half wig that would make it ( Read more... )

I think you'll be a lot more comfortable without the wig adding another layer of heat. You can always add it in October if it turns cold! :D I'm glad you're feeling stronger.

Yep, I have thought about wearing a wig when the temp drops. I seem to have the energy to do a few things around the house and go to doctor appts. Today after my doc appt we are going up into MD, above Brunswick to see our son and DIL. On the way there we are stopping at the antique/consignmwnt shop that is selling my jewelry. Well at least I hope it's selling!! Then we have a footbal scrimmage with out grandson. I will be ready for bed when all that's over. And unfortunately I have had to pass on meeting a wonderful friend whom I haven't see it a very long time. But we will see each other at MDRF.

Bald is beautiful hon.
Quick story -- last year I bought my hubby a t-shirt from Casual Living that had in text on the front "The Few. The Proud. The Bald." We've been stopped several times by complete strangers asking where they could buy the shirt. Usually it's bald men asking, but on a few occasions it's been women who lost their hair due to their cancer treatments wanting to get the shirt for themselves.

I may need to search out that shirt. I stopped wearing wigs/hats mid way through radiation. One day I forgot the hat too. As I walked into the doctors office, a lovely lady with breast cancer was walking out, bald and beautiful. She, too, had forgotten the head gear and we both felt great about it. I get stared at in stores and a few kids have asked me about the patch but I'm almost used to it now. And the stubble is getting longer so there is still hope for a full head of hair!!

You're a survivor and that is something to be proud of. Go bare and ignore those too crude or thoughtless or stupid who may stare or comment. (And I'd wholeheartedly agree with the others who mentioned that heat would be a real consideration at MDRF).

Hope to see you somewhere as you get back to the "swing of things". :)

That is great news hon - and you can wear some of those scarves underneath to add some color too.
